Delivery to Switzerland: shipping, duties and payment
Your order is going to Switzerland. Our family grows and cures its vanilla in Madagascar, in the SAVA region; your parcel leaves our workshop in Bessan, in the south of France. Import duties and taxes are the recipient's responsibility: they are charged to you on delivery, not at checkout.
Delivery
We pack your order within 2 to 5 working days, Monday to Friday. After dispatch, allow 3 to 6 working days as a rule, carried by FedEx, or Chronopost depending on the country, with home delivery against signature and tracking sent by email. That figure is the one the carrier gives for this destination: it is indicative, it does not include customs clearance and we cannot guarantee it.
Home delivery is free from CHF 100. Below that amount it costs €15.90, converted into Swiss francs at payment, whatever the parcel weighs.

The rate that applies is shown in your basket, before payment. On vanilla beans sold by the kilo, delivery is included in the price shown.
Duties and import taxes
Your parcel leaves the European Union. Customs duty, local import tax and clearance fees are the recipient's responsibility: the carrier collects them on delivery. Nothing is charged for them at checkout.
To give you a sense of it: on a 200 euro order, Swiss value added tax at the reduced food rate of 2.6 % comes to around 6.60 euros. This is topped up by a customs clearance fee; the final handover may be carried out by a local partner of the carrier. Tax of less than 5 francs is not collected, which in practice puts small parcels out of its reach.
These figures are orders of magnitude, given for guidance under the rules in force as at 6 September 2026, and not a commitment on our part: only the authorities of the destination country set the amount actually due.
We are also preparing an express shipping option for trade orders, under which we would settle the import duties and taxes ourselves. It is not open yet: no order can be placed that way today.

Prices are shown in Swiss francs, and the exact amount is repeated to you before you confirm.

Returns and contact
Our goods are sealed foodstuffs. If there is a packing error, a defect or a damaged parcel, write to us within 48 hours at contact@vanilledesire.com, with your order number and photographs: we will offer a replacement, a credit note or a refund.
